80 million people, almost 30% of the population have TMJ symptoms. 76% of these people have joint noises (popping, clicking or grinding) that indicate dislocation of the disc in the TMJ and possibly osteoarthritis.
In the USA, 78% of women and 68% of men have headaches. Globally 47% of the world population has headaches. After joint pain and headaches, the most common symptoms that TMJ patients complain of are neck pain and ear symptoms (earache, congestion, loss of hearing and ringing).

Each year, sleep disorders add an estimated $16 billion to national health care costs.
AAA motor club reports 50,000 car accidents per year caused by sleepy drivers. They further estimate that this number is grossly under reported.
